The short version

No accounts, no ads, no tracking across apps, and nothing is ever sold.
Your bets live on your phone. The server gets a copy only while those games are on, and deletes it when they end.
Bet-slip photos are read and then thrown away.

Your bets

The bets you add, your settings, and the games you follow are stored on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.

Starting up to two days before a game you've bet on, the app sends the BetSet server the bets on that game, so it can tell you the moment one cashes or dies, even with the app closed. What it sends: each bet's legs, lines and payout, plus Apple's notification token for your phone. It's tied only to the app's random ID (below). The server deletes it all when the game ends, or within three days at the latest.

Bet-slip photos

When you add bets from a photo, the image goes to the BetSet server, which passes it to Anthropic's Claude to read the bets. Neither BetSet nor Anthropic keeps the photo to train AI models. BetSet doesn't store the photo at all.

Usage counting

The app creates a random ID the first time it runs. It isn't tied to your name, Apple ID or phone number. The server uses it to count photo reads against the monthly limit. Your IP address is also counted for 48 hours as a guard against abuse.

Lock Screen updates

While a game's Live Activity is on your Lock Screen, the app sends the server three things:

Apple's push token for that card
the game you're following
the text the card shows about your bets

The server uses them to keep the card current while the app is closed. It deletes them when the game ends, or after 8 hours at most.

Scores and stats

Live scores, lineups, stats and player photos come straight to your phone from public MLB and ESPN feeds. Those servers see a normal web request from your phone, like visiting their sites.

Not a sportsbook

BetSet only tracks bets you've already placed elsewhere. It doesn't take bets, hold money, or link to sportsbook accounts. It's meant for adults of legal betting age where they live.
